The School of Dentistry's excellent teaching was rewarded with the maximum mark of 24 for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in the last Quality Assurance Agency subject review.

A foundation year means that students who do not have the necessary science qualifications to enter the BDS can still study to become dentists at the School.

Dentistry at Manchester

Manchester's dental course stands out from similar programmes with its use of enquiry-based learning.

Oral Health Sciences (BSc)

Train to be a dental therapist or hygienist on our three-year programme. The qualification is recognised by the General Dental Council (GDC) and only one other UK university offers this route into dental practice.
