Molecular genetics of craniofacial anomalies

Development of the orofacial region consists of a complex series of events, which are frequently disturbed resulting in a variety of craniofacial and dental anomalies. We investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying such conditions to understand the fundamental developmental mechanisms involved in normal and abnormal facial development, and identify strategies for the prevention and/or amelioration of such disorders.
